University of Caen meets Ghanaian Universities [fr]
A delegation from the University of Caen, comprising of Mr. Benoit Véron, Vice-president in charge of International Development, Ms. Stéphany Gouttry, representing the Department of French for Caen University and Mr. Adrien Bernard, International Development Officer came to Ghana early December (week of the 3rd December) to explore new avenues of collaboration with the University of Ghana (UG) and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
[With the support of the Coordinator for Campus France at KNUST and the French Expert to Ghanaian Universities for Higher Education Cooperation and Research, they were able to meet Departmental heads and lecturers from the two institutions.
At KNUST, the delegation met the Head of the Department of Modern languages, Prof. Charles Marfo, some French lecturers and the Dean of International Relations, Prof. Rexford Oppong.
At UG, the delegation was received by the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Samuel Offei, as well as by Mr. Daniel Hormeku, the Assistant Registrar at the Office of International Programmes.
They also met with the Dean of the Faculty of languages, Prof. Nana Amfo, the Heads of Departments of Languages, Heads of Department at the Business School (UGBS) as well as representatives of the Department of Marine and Fisheries Sciences, including the Director of the Regional Centre for Marine Productivity and Biodiversity, Prof. George Wiafe.
Their visit to both institutions was marked with discussions which focused on opportunities to establish new areas of collaboration such as facilitating student and faculty mobility between the two universities as well as joint research projects. The Vice President of the University of Caen stressed on the Caen University’s willingness to establish sustainable and active partnerships with foreign counterparts, which seeks to include different types of projects and stakeholders in the University.
