President Mahama’s visit to France - Oct. 2015
President John Mahama paid a visit to Paris and Bordeaux in France from October 5 to 8, 2015.
In Paris, he first met Mr. François Hollande, President of the French Republic at the Elysée Palace. The two leaders called on French companies to invest more in Ghana in the sectors of energy, transport, and agribusiness. They exchanged views on issues regarding West Africa as well as migration. They also discussed the upcoming 2015 Paris Climate conference which will take place at the end of the year in Paris.

Laurent Fabius, French Minister of Foreign Affairs met his Ghanaian counterpart Hannah Tetteh, as a part of the annual political dialogue between France and Ghana.

President Mahama met with the business community through the Francophone Business Forum.
Later, President Mahama visited UNESCO where he was received by the General Director of the Organization, Irina Bokova. He addressed a speech to representatives of the diplomatic community and civil society in Ghana.

On 6th October, President Mahama visited the OECD. On this day, Ghana became the 50th member of OECD development center. Ghana is the ninth African participant country.

Before heading to the city of Bordeaux, President Mahama was interviewed on the French TV channel: France 24.

In the last segment of his visit, in Bordeaux, he met with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce. He also addressed the students of Institute of Political Studies: ’Sciences Politiques’- Bordeaux and University of Bordeaux.
