Joint Operational Cooperation Plan (PCCO)
On December 11th and 12th 2017, the Ghanaian armed forces hosted the biannual meeting of the PCCO Centre (Joint Operational Cooperation Plan).
This joint process of “Centre” operational cooperation initiated and led by the French troops in Senegal is part of the implementation of a dynamic of operational cooperation, involving so far the willing West African states (Ghana, Côte d’ Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Mali, Liberia, Sierra Leone).
Its aim is to jointly oversee an enhancement of the regional cooperation, by focusing efforts on the cross-border areas and maritime borders, especially through training and dedicated field exercises.
This preventive action aims at reinforcing the measures taken against the growing threat that constitute armed terrorist groups whose action could lead to the destabilization of States and West African societies.
