Hackathon: The French language and digital innovation competition
During the month of June, the French embassy in conjunction with the France Ghana Chamber of Commerce, Institut Français, Alliance Française d’Accra, and Lucas College, is organising a program dubbed “French DJ - French Digital June”, under the initiative “France & Ghana 1957-2017: moving forward together”
For French Digital June, a number of events have been lined up to showcase the role of digitization in understanding and addressing educational, economic and cultural issues. The first of these events is the HACKTHON digital innovation competition which aims at creating a software application that would facilitate the learning of French. In this digital age, the French language continues to adapt to new and innovative trends of teaching and learning.
The competition will bring together various experts organised into teams. Each team is to be composed of two teachers/students and two software developers. Over a period of 12 hours, the teams will each be tasked with designing a software application concept based on the following theme: “development of fun tools for the learning of French language (general/ professional) in Ghana.” At the end of it, slide presentations will be made on the various developed concepts. Prizes include 3000 Ghc for the winner, with the possibility of developing the app, free tuition and cultural pass at Alliance Française and a host of other goodies.
The competition takes place on the 1st and 2nd of June at Lucas College, Accra. All interested persons should please contact :firstname.lastname@example.org latest by 21st May, 2017.
