French Navy Ship « Cdt BIROT » visits Ghana
French Navy Ship “Commandant Birot” operated a port call from January 28th to February 1st at Sekondi.
The purpose of the visit is to reinforce the existing ties between the French and the Ghanaian naval forces, as part of the Corymbe mission in the Guinea Golf. The Corymbe mission has been a mission of permanent French armed forces presence in the Guinea Gulf since 1990 to counter maritime banditry.
The “Commandant Birot” crew shared an onboard working luncheon with the Ghana Navy, followed by a visit of the vessel’s French learning center, and some exercises related to maritime security.
The reception by the French community in Sekondi/Takoradi was excellent.
