Applying for a French visa in Ghana [fr]

Available in several France-visas is a single portal with all the information you need process and help you every step of the way to sbmit your file for a visa to go to France. It concern all kind of visa : short stay Schengen visa (including DOM-TOM and Transit Visa) ou long stay visa. France-Visas guides you through the process and assist you every step of your application

To submit your Visa Applications, it must imperatively be made with the following (the below mentioned documents must be imperatively printed by the applicant):

  • The CERFA edited via France-Visa
  • The registration receipt of the request on France-Visas
  • Supporting comply with éménant list France-Visas

Please note that waiting times for appointments and for processing applications will vary depending on your nationality and the time of year. Users are therefore asked to submit their visa applications well in advance of their departure date.

1. Visa fee in Ghana Cedis

The Schengen visa fee per application is fixed in Euro (60 €). This fee has to be paid in cash and in Ghana Cedis. The exact price may vary according to the exchange rate.

3. Respect the schedule to guarantee the visa service access

Respecting the exact time of your appointment, will guarantee your access to the visa service. If you arrive late, you may not have access to the Visa service and may have to book a new appointment online.

4. A complete application speeds up process and result

Complete applications will be processed in priority. Before applying for your visa, make sure you have all the requested documents.

5. Forged documents leads to the rejection of the application

The visa service checks the authenticity of the submitted documents. If forged documents are submitted, the visa will automatically be refused and applicant will be negatively registered.

6. The main steps in applying for a visa

  • Do I need a visa?

  • Complete your application online

  • Submit your application to the visa centre

7. The Embassy of France in Ghana is in charge for short stay visa for Mauritania and Central African Republic

The Embassy of France in Accra also issues short-stay visas for the following countries: Mauritania and Central African Republic. For that kind of request, please send an email at

Please note that only short stay visa application can be processed by the French Embassy. All kinds of long stay visas (more than 90 days) have to be submitted to the closest National Embassy of the destination country.
